Got to Portland on Christmas Eve just in time for Christmas Eve dinner.
There was a lot of relaxing and eating out on this trip. So many good restaurants; so little time.
Left Portland on New Year's Day for a lazy drive home.
The big Marshall Fire in Superior happened while I was gone but the wind gods spared us.
I headed straight south to White Sands National Park. Turns out there was no camping because of Covid so I stayed at a nice, nearby hotel.
I drove to Joshua Tree National Park and rented a condo at Palm Desert. Tess came down from Firebaugh, California to visit for a few days and we hung out.
Thanksgiving!
We all went to hit some balls at Top Golf for Albert's 18th birthday. So much fun.
Holloween!
Aloha!
We celebrated Dani's birthday at the Moana Surfrider in Honolulu. What at great old hotel,
We went on a couple of catamaran cruises. So beautiful.
Beyond the usual fun, we dragged the river looking for a lost phone. No luck but a good time nonetheless.
Tess flew to Portland for the Campout and so we could drive back to Boulder together.
We first stopped in Seattle first and stayed at a hotel near Lake Union for a few nights to see the sights.
We went north and visited Blaine and Robin at their home on Whidbey Island. What a beautiful home and great hosts. Tess and I toured the island on the way out.
The next stop was an area near Lake Sevier. There was actually a little water in the normally dry lakebed.
The Centralia Campout. The usual crowd and the usual fun was had by all.
We had a mini family reunion after the Campout finished.
Sam flew home to start school.
On this trip, I found out I have a new half-cousin and had a chance to visit with her.
Sam and I drove to the annual Umpqua Rive "Flotilla."
There was more eating, dancing, and hanging out than floating. So much fun.
Sadly, drone number 2 exploded midair on this trip and is no more.
We drove from New Orleans along the Gulf Coast all the way to Key West.
The best beach on the road was in Destin -- powdery white sand and clear blue water.
We also visited Panama City, Clearwater, Cape Coral, Naples, Little Havana in Mianmi, Key Largo and Key West.
New Orleans -- What a great city.
Great food and exciting nightlife.
Dani and I did a little side trip to Nashville.
What a great live music scene.
We stayed at a hotel that had a glass walled swimming pool on the roof -- very unique.
We stopped by the wax museum too.
Ahhhh ... The South -- hot and humid but the food can't be beat.
Kayaked
Worked the farm.
BBQ'd until we could no more.
Perfect weather to hang out in Portland.
We tried the seasonal white spotted prawns -- served raw!
EVERYONE is traveling again. I almost forgot what it was like for the airport to be busy.
Eat, Play, Love ... mostly eat!
Hot pot with friends.
BBQ with B & P.
Visited with Eva.
Eat, Pool, Love!
Ahhh ... 80 degree weather by the pool in early April. Mostly sleeping in and hanging by the wonderful pool.
Visited with Brian and Vy and hung around crazy Fremont Street. Fremont is four city blocks long. It's pure madness. It's covered by a screen that is 1400 feet long and 90 feet wide. The accompany sound system uses 600KW. https://vegasexperience.com/viva-vision-light-show/
Enjoyed so many great restaurants. Sushisamba, a Japanese / Brazilian fusion cuisine, was the clear winner (https://www.sushisamba.com/).

Escaped Colorado 2 foot snow dump just in time.
Portland was sunny and 60ish for 3 days ... in March! What a treat.
Giant cold snap hits Portland area.
Power goes out for a few days.
St. Valentine's Day!
Hiked to the Pittock Mansion. Start at the Lower Macleay Park trailhead ( 2960 NW Upshur St. ). Follow the signs to the mansion; it's about 5.6 miles with lots of vertical climb.
More great meals from Barry. Hamburger night with passion fruit drinks was especially great.
Hiked to the Willamette Stone.
Visited downtown Portland -- so empty.
